About Us
The APA Canadian Circuit is gearing up to kick off the new year of 2025 with a bang!
The APA was formed to bring the best players from all over Ontario to compete at the highest level! From amateurs to seasoned veterans, we want all our players to display their talents at premium venues across the province. While our events are centralized in Ontario, we extend a warm invitation to players from across the globe to join us and showcase their skills on our esteemed circuit.
From 3.0 to 5.0 players, we will be LIVESTREAMING matches, featuring full names and scores. We're committed to providing a premium experience for our athletes, offering exclusive VIP access to designated rooms and lounges for relaxation before their events begin. Our goal is to ensure that every participant feels valued, and we aim to create unforgettable pickleball experiences not only for our players but also for our dedicated spectators.
For our OPEN players, we present exclusive PRO events with a substantial prize pool of $4000+ at each tournament! This prize pool will only continue to grow with each subsequent event as we secure more sponsorships. It's important to note that PRO events are reserved for players rated at 5.0 and above. However, ambitious players with lower ratings are encouraged to reach out to the APA Tournament Director for consideration and potential approval to participate.
Our Team

Michael Chao
Founder / CEO
Michael is a former competitive basketball player from Newmarket, Ontario. Starting from his days as a standout player with the York Avengers REP basketball team, he continued to hone his skills through high school with the Newmarket Raiders before taking his talents to the collegiate level with the Georgian Grizzlies.
However, a significant setback in the form of a devastating knee injury in 2015 required Michael to undergo knee surgery and pivot his athletic pursuits. It was during his rehabilitation process that he discovered pickleball, a sport that captured his passion and determination like never before. Embracing this new challenge wholeheartedly, he immersed himself in the game, eventually making the decision to transition away from basketball and commit himself fully to pickleball by 2018.
Currently, Michael is a entrepreneur now who owns multiple companies across the province.
- North City Hoops - Providing basketball services catering to adults across York Region, offering recreational to advanced leagues
- ZEO Event Marketing - Providing professional services for small and large events across the GTA. Services include campaign strategy, event execution, and staffing
- APA Canadian Circuit - Providing professional/amateurs pickleball events all over Canada. Tournaments and clinics at state of the art facilities
